Boneyard coaches could not be prouder of this group of kids. We kept working all year and the improvements kept coming. If you know Boneyard wrestlers, you know we work hard and are prepared for late periods and OT. You know we focus on more position wins than we do moves. Our kid's responded this weekend and we are extremely proud of the individual's and team success.

Boneyard Wrestling Academy is excited to announce the addition of Zach Neibert as our new head coach.

A native of Dayton, Ohio, Neibert graduated from St. Paris Graham High School, a nationally known wrestling powerhouse, where he was considered one of the top lightweights in the country. St. Paris Graham is home of the legendary Jeff Jordan system. It was important to us to bring someone into Boneyard that had a background from a proven system. We wanted a great system coach, not just a great athlete.

In High School, Neibert was a state champion as a junior at 119 pounds and won his second state championship his senior year at 125 pounds, when he went 45-1 for the season. He finished his high school career as a NHSCA Junior National champion.

In college, Neibert wrestled at Virginia Tech for Coach Kevin Dresser. Coach Dresser, now at Iowa State, has long been regarded as one of the great coaches in modern history. Again, building on the “system coach” theme. At VT, Neibert was also teammates with Erik Spjut, current Conroe ISD College Park High School head coach. Coach Spjut highly recommends Neibert and believes Zach can help take Boneyard to the next level.

During his time in college, Neibert posted multiple tournament championships and key victories over nationally ranked wrestlers throughout his Virginia Tech career, finishing with an overall record of 88-39. The 88 wins are tied for the 13th most in program history. He was a 2013 NCAA All-American and the 2014 ACC champion at 149 pounds. Neibert graduated from Virginia Tech earning a degree in sociology.

Neibert served as an assistant for Roanoke Catholic, and was promptly promoted to Head Coach. He most recently was the Head Coach at Mesa Mountain View High School in Mesa, AZ. Under his tutelage, he had a couple HS State Champs, 3 consecutive years of undefeated dual seasons, Tulsa Nationals champs and Freakshow champs.

We can tell you, Coach Neibert is excited about the possibilities in Texas.

When asked about what his thoughts on his new position at Boneyard, Coach Zach responded with “The goal is to build an environment where success is based off effort. Hard work, consistent effort, and being excellent at executing the fundamentals of wrestling will set the stage for success through all levels of wrestling. Not only doing the right things in the room but at home and at school as well. How you do one thing in life is how you do all things in life. Personally, I am excited to grow the wrestling culture at Boneyard and help develop wrestlers who are going to have the tools necessary to find success not only in wrestling but in everything they do in life.”

Boneyard feels Zach Neibert will be a great addition to our already promising program. He brings the attitude, the toughness, the system and the expectations of becoming the best wrestler and person you can be.

We are excited to add Coach Neibert into our family.
